The XU Montessori Lab School Middle School Assistant Teacher works cohesively with the Head Middle School Teacher to create a dynamic developmentally appropriate classroom.  Following the principles of Montessori education; the assistant teacher is knowledgeable of Montessori terminology; aids the Head teacher in the preparation of the environment; observes and records children’s progress; adheres to school and state safety requirements and guidelines; and fosters supportive relationships with the parent community and school community at large.

The Assistant Teacher must be present for all lab school functions that may occur after school hours to include but not limited to: parent education nights, open house, parent-child work day, Montessori Gala, community celebrations. Position required to attend and to participate in all parent/teacher conferences and aid in the preparation of student’s progress reports.
